The Wizards Visit Alladore

I needed a break from painting miniatures today, so, based on a discussion on the Facebook group for Rangers of Shadow Deep, I decided to run a Frostgrave Wizard through the first Rangers scenario.

I chose an Elementalist warband consisting of Wizard, Apprentice, Templar, a Rangers and an Archer (as well as a summoned animal) - so 550gc (went a bit high because I liked the minis, and what the heck).

I Played in Challenge Mode, and replaced skill checks with either Fight or Will rolls vs a difficulty of 4 higher than listed to try to stay more true to how FrostGrave works.

It wasn't a cakewalk. Apprentice, ranger and archer went down; Wizard, other ranger and templar survived (as did the summoned animal). We just got the last clue in Round 7 (which is when the Apprentice dropped) - many flubbed spells. Had I not gone with the extra 50gc, it might have been a different story.

But, we found Aventine, identified his sword, found & figured out the strange tracks. So, while I've already done some FrostGrave scenarios using Rangers of Shadow Deep rules, the opposite also works.

Overview

We're Here.... What's going on?

Oh. That's going on...

Suprise?

Endgame - Ranger and Wizard

Endgame - Templar

Poor Apprentice. Didn't even name you.

Other Ranger and Archer didn't have a good day.
