Bug Hunt! Introducing the team

There was a knock on the Commander's door.  Kraff - must  be important.  No one knocks for trivial reasons.

"Enter"

The Lieutenant looked nervous.  Scared, really.  "Major Xilliam, sir!  Report from Hesione base.  Some local looters broke in to Hesione  Native City WY445902-1047146 and reported a Swarm Brood nest."

Kraff.....  As if we didn't have enough problems, with the K'Erin acting up, and reports of something pushing them to invade.

"What strike teams do we have available?"

"Strike Team Gamma Charlie Five Five Seven - the 'Gray Cats' just arrived from Lam on the Strike Ship Rogger, Sir.  Requested R&R."

"Ah, the nasty business with the Razor Lizards and the science teams.  Get them moving, attach whichever fire team is on rotation there, and notify Hesione to scrounge up whatever they can spare."

"Sir - the 'Gray Cats' are under-strength.  Corporal "Torch" Antorn, well, went AWOL"

"Well, we have recruits, right?  Get one into action."

"Sir, the only one unattached is a 'special' from the prison world Aguez.  No one else wanted him."

"Can't blame them.  'Specials'  make me nervous, too.  Well, the 'Gray Cats' are soldiers.  They'll deal.  Attach him and send them out."


Update - with Gunny's retirement, the Squad has recruited Private Soldeth "Vile" Vilux from the Unity Army to join the squad.

 After a long hiatus, I am back (hopefully).  Documenting the last turn I played before shutting down for a while. Celebrations over, the crew of the Renegade Pigeon prepared to finally discover the mystery they had been tracking down since they first banded together.  The two artifacts that they had - one given to Kazi by her mother, and one in the possession of the alien treasure-hunter, Vonthos, led to Hesione. House Rule - Leveling up

In order to make the game a bit more fun and easy, I'm going to make an alteration in the training rules for going up levels. The training time will be a flat week - I forgot if I was having you spend two before, but in the future, it will be 1.  If I was already having you spend 1 week, you will still be spending 1 week :) The cost will be 500gp/level, so to get to 5th level, the training cost will be 2500gp.  And don't forget that Toko and Johnny Longbow will need 1000gp each to get to 2nd level, once they get enough XP.  This is down from 1500gp per level per week. Non-humans have level limits per the "rules as written".  As I've mentioned before, I'm removing that for single-classed characters.  However, there will be a penalty.  Once you exceed the by-the-book limit (i.e. a half-elf fighter's max level is 8th by the book, so for Dylan to get above 8th level), the time to train doubles to 2 weeks - so it's basically 1000gp/level after that. Bug Hunt - Kethira Station, Actogor System

I didn't want to 3d print 20 or so "Slithering Horrors", so I decided to try this turn in Roll 20.  Created some quick macros to help, uploaded some tokens, and went at it.  Based on the results, I should have stuck with dice and minis.... "Ok, Team - Listen Up", Dude said, her voice shaky, "We have our next mission.  Kethira station in the Actogor system has been infested by some kind of alien goop-creatures.  We go in, burn them, get out." "Dude, calm down.  I know Gunny left, but it's just us." Kevin said. "Quiet down, Kevin.  Here's the layout of the station.  We hit these three spots, kill as many things as we can, and call for evac.  We're bringing my incinerator, Flamey, and grenades.  Now suit up, and move out."
